Launched in 2017, InNEVator is fueling the creation of successful, early-stage startups and helping to build a thriving technology ecosystem in Northern Nevada.
We work closely with carefully selected companies solving important problems and having the potential to scale. While most accelerators manage the masses, we take a more hands-on approach. We provide a team of experts and their undivided attention to founders and their teams. We have the resources to accelerate success through our collaboration with industry leaders, the Innevation Center, and the University of Nevada, Reno.
Our Core Beliefs
We are a group of founders helping founders. We are cost-conscious and we are savvy.
Collaboration is Critical
We are advisors, not bosses. All ideas are encouraged. We partner with business and technical leaders in our community, entrepreneurial service organizations, incubators, and investors in helping startup companies address their challenges.
How the West Was Won
We are pioneers and we take risks. We try to move at the speed of startups.
Is to empower a diverse group of talented entrepreneurs to bring new technologies to market from ideation to scale in Northern Nevada.
Where is InNEVator located?
The University of Nevada, Reno Innevation Center in downtown Reno, Nevada. All companies must be present to participate. Given the COVID-19 pandemic, the Spring 2021 program will likely to be a hybrid with some workshops in person and other events online.
When does the program occur?
Spring (March-April) each year. Follow RenoInNEVator.com for updates.
How many companies are usually selected per program?
Three to five companies are usually selected per program. We choose the right companies, not a specific number.
What’s the deal?
Each company will provide notes or equity in exchange for a target cash investment of $20,000. For concept-stage companies, the investment may be lower. For later stage companies with validated technology and market, the investment may be higher.
Do we need to be a US C-Corp?
Our preference is to fund companies that are C-Corps, but we have put together funding instruments that allow for incorporation during the program. We have also invested in some non-US companies that have the equivalent structure of a C-Corp.
How will you value our company?
Depending on the status of the company, the valuation or cap can range between $800k and $3.5M. At the higher end, we need to see investment from accredited investors to back up the valuation. We strive to make a deal that works for everyone.
