Reno bootcamp call for entries

The deadline to apply for participation is 28 August with the bootcamp commencing in October

InNEVator, a bootcamp for Internet of Things start-ups, is offering fledgling companies the opportunity to accelerate development of their concept and business this autumn.

The six-week, intensive InNEVator 2017 programme starts in October and will be hosted at the Innevation Centre, University of Nevada, Reno.

Participating start-ups will receive funding and have the opportunity to closely interact with programme sponsors, investors and mentors who are successful industry veterans.

“The overall goal is to create more viable, fundable start-ups, as we also spur creativity, ideation and economic opportunity,” Jim Sacherman, director of the Innevation Centre and a successful serial entrepreneur.

InNEVator 2017 is designed to accelerate development of prototyping, creative thinking, commercialization, seed-funding, planning and operations, customer engagement and other aspects of business. The deadline to apply for participation is 28 August 2017.

Breadware and WaterShed Growth Ventures have joined the Innevation Center as hosts of InNEVator 2017.

Breadware is a hardware and software service that helps entrepreneurs and businesses seeking to develop products in the IoT space. Based in the Innevation Centre, it moved its headquarters and operations to Reno in March this year.

“Our Breadware toolset provides a powerful and accessible solution to IoT development, reducing the time and money burdens of the development process,” said Danny deLaveaga, COO of Breadware.

WaterShed Growth Ventures is a specialized investor and consultancy organization focused on effectively managing, funding and building early-stage companies in northern Nevada. It was co-founded by Sacherman, who continues as a managing member, along with Dan Eckert and Scott Levy.

The center is at the heart of Reno’s emerging high-energy, entrepreneurial scene. It offers a collaborative environment where university students, faculty members and researchers engage with entrepreneurs, investors, commercialization experts and community leaders.
